IBM FileNet P8 Migration Services
- Fairfax offers the services and experience needed to help you migrate from IBM FileNet Content Services (CS) or Image Services (IS) to IBM FileNet P8 Content Manager (CM). M20ing from CS to CM is not a simple process. The good news is CM offers many new features that make it an excellent content management platform, AND, Fairfax has proven tools and methods that have smoothly and successfully migrated large CS and IS libraries to CM object stores. We offer end-to-end services for P8 migration, including design consulting, implementation, application migration and data migration services.
Design and Implementation Services
- A P8 migration properly begins with rethinking your content management needs in the context of the new features offered by CM. There are new options available in CM, such as new data types, hierarchical document classes and choice lists, and a new security paradigm. Fairfax will review your content management needs and help you make changes to your content management design.
Once your design is complete, Fairfax, as a IBM FileNet certified Implementation Services Provider partner, can perform a comprehensive P8 implementation.
Migration Planning
- There are many choices and issues to consider in a CS/IS to CM data migration. Fairfax will identify and help you logically work through these to produce a Migration Specification Document. Fairfax has up-to-date, detailed knowledge of product parity issues – small and large functionality differences between CS and CM that make the data migration challenging. We know how to work with any of these parity issues that apply to your system.
Data Migration Services
- Fairfax has developed a Migration Tool that we use to migrate your CS/IS data objects to CM. It offers the power and flexibility needed to achieve the most exacting migration requirements. We believe we have the best tool available.
A successful data migration also relies on thorough preparation. Before we kick off the migration, there is testing, several system checks and preparatory steps we will perform to ensure a smooth migration.
The migration is performed on your systems during non-production time, with onsite or remote administration by Fairfax. Importantly, to achieve optimal transfer rates our migration tool is highly optimized and has performance monitoring capabilities to identify bottlenecks.
The entire migration process is designed with auditing and exception catching so that we can thoroughly validate the completeness of the migration. We will provide you with a Migration Report that shows the validation.
